Just a reminder Mondog is having a Fundraiser and Clean-Up Day at Montrose Dog Beach on Saturday, Sept. 23. We are raising money to pay for our half of the cost of new and proposed beach improvements. The Park District erected the fence in advance of our fundraising. Now the bill is in, and we need to raise money to pay for it. The Park is paying half the cost of the fence, and our share is $13,500. The proposed ramp is a bit more expensive at $37,500. It will provide year-round safe access to the beach for humans and dogs of all ages, eliminating the hazardous climb down the rock wall. We will also be doing some Clean Up and Beach Maintenance Saturday. One of the goals for the day is to remove the remaining the hurricane fence posts. We'll have some shovels and hammers, so grab some gloves and lend a hand digging them out. We will be at the beach accepting donations and answering questions from 9 am to 3 pm, and cleaning up from 9 am till 11:30 am. In case of rain, event will be rescheduled on a date TBD The Montrose Dog Beach is a wonderful resource enjoyed by people throughout the Chicagoland area. Please show your appreciation and support by making a generous donation, and doing your share to keep Montrose Dog Beach clean, safe, and legal.
